Comerica Park Announces New Eats, Theme Nights, Attractions, and More for 2022

DETROIT, April 4, 2021 ~ Detroit’s Biggest Party: Detroit Tigers Opening Day is on Friday, April 8, and with it comes a lineup of new experiences for Tigers fans at Comerica Park.

The Tigers announced Friday that a variety of food and beverages will be added at various concessions around the park, including savory food, sweet desserts, and  some cocktail creations.

Some highlights are the “Coney Pasty,” a flaky pasty shell filled with with flavorful ballpark frank slices, piping-hot Coney sauce, yellow mustard and diced onions.

Fans will also be treated to the “Gyro Nacho,” made with crispy pita chips, sliced gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, onions, and creamy tzatziki.

There’s also “The Notorious P.I.G.:” made with juicy pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, onion straws, and fresh jalapenos, topped with BBQ sauce on an oven-fresh onion roll.

The Tigers also announced that theme nights are back, allowing fans the opportunity to participate in special events during select games throughout the 2022 season. Star Wars Night returns on Saturday May 14 vs. the Baltimore Orioles, and the 20th annual Negro Leagues Weekend Presented by Comerica Bank, June 17 through 19 against the Texas Rangers.

For the younger audience, kids will get a chance to see the field up close, as Chevy Sunday Kids Day returns, featuring opportunities for children ages 12 and under to run the bases after the game. Additionally, Ferris Wheel and carousel rides will be free on Sundays for children of the same age.
