The first (…) single from his debut Stateside LP, Right Place Right Time (…), Troublemaker sounds a bit like the Maroon 5 you used to enjoy. Somehow, the song allows dear-ol’ Olly to lavish in his own, signature ‘swag’ all the same.

Charmingly, well, British – Olly Murs hasn’t had the easiest time cracking the American market, to my surprise. Troublemaker features some bits from Flo Rida it could do without (*more on this below), but overcompensates with one earworm of a melody.

The single is scheduled for US radio servicing in early 2013, despite being available for purchase since this past October.

*In speaking about this ‘meeting of the minds’, Olly said that it was…”kind of easy, in a way. [It] wasn’t hard … We just literally sent him the track, his people heard the track and they really liked it. And Flo Rida was like, ‘I really want to do it’. So he was up for doing it.”
