Affleck has been spotted sporting an enormous new back tattoo. The colorful ink covers the entirety of his back and features what appears to be a phoenix with its wings spread wide across his shoulder blades.
A full shot of the new tattoo was captured by photographers on Tuesday, Dec. 8, while Affleck was working on the Los Angeles set of his upcoming film Live by Night, costarringSienna Miller, Zoe Saldana, and Scott Eastwood. And the telling body art — the phoenix, of course, is a mythological creature and a symbol of rebirth and reinvention.
