DETROIT, April 5, 2023 ~ Major League Baseball is back in Detroit this week as “The Best Fans in Baseball” get ready to be treated to both favorite traditions and new experiences.
Beyond new league rules that promise a faster pace and increased excitement, the Tigers took things even further during the off season this year by moving the Comerica Park outfield walls in by 20 feet and dropping their height, thereby increasing the chances for home runs.
Speaking of home runs, Detroiters will likely get to see a few more of them from retiring Tigers legend, Miguel Cabrera. The 12-time MLB All-Star and Triple Crown winner will enjoy a big sendoff this year, with honorary celebrations, commemorative giveaways, and special merchandise.
(CONTINUED) Off the field, Comerica Park guests will find much to enjoy, including great discount offers, delectable new tastes, cool giveaways, experiences for the kids, and more.
If you’re looking for a bargain, then the 313 Value Games are for you! Tuesday games this year will feature $19 lower-level tickets, plus $3 fountain drinks, $1 chips, and $3 hot dogs. There’s also the Meijer Sunday Family Value Deal, which offers four seats, four fountain drinks, and four hot dogs for just $79.
The Tigers are also bringing the tastes of Detroit to the park, with sensational new offerings from local eateries that include Bert’s Marketplace, Breadless, Green Dot Stables, Taqueria El Rey, The Lobster Food Truck, and Yum Village.
Not enough? How about some theme nights!!! Events this year include the annual Pink Out the Park Breast Cancer Awareness Day on May 12, Star Wars Day on May 13, and The 18th Annual Fiesta Tigers Day on August 5.
