We met Jen from New Haven on Twitter a few weeks ago. It was a Saturday night and we were talking movies. She had made her special sweet and salty popcorn and watched Despicable Me with her kids. She sent us the recipe which looks yummy! It was dubbed Minion Popcorn. So, what better time to share it with you than as the new minion movie is released…
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup popcorn kernels
1/2 cup sugar
Salt to taste
Food coloring (if desired)
Fills 1 medium bowl
DIRECTIONS:
First have a Teflon stock pot with a glass lid
Then pour a 1/4c. Oil then 1/2c popcorn kernels pouring into the pan. Then pour 1/2c of sugar(depends on taste) you can add more or less, then I add some drops of red food coloring (or which ever you want or non at all) then I stir it once . Turn on medium heat, when you see the oil start to bubble I slowly begin to shake it like jiffy pop from way back lol then once it starts popping I really begin to shake it faster once the popping starts to show down I pull from the fire and shake upside down and all around then once the popping stop I take the lid off sprinkle the salt on top take the wooden spoon becareful it will be HOT and stir it pour it into a bowl and bam there ya go it takes a few times to master it but my kids love it ❤
