WDVD At Home – News – How to Cope with the Winter Blues

Easy Tips to Help You Fight the Winter Blues

Being stuck inside during the long, freezing winter months can be rough. Many people can feel depressed and sad, but there are many ways to try to overcome these blue feelings until spring arrives.

First, you can make sure to get out of bed and not stay under the comfy blankets all day. Even if you are staying indoors and not leaving home, shower and get dressed as if you were.

To make good use of what little sun we get, open up the curtains or blinds and let the light in. You can even add some artificial light to your day buy purchasing a light box. The light they emit is similar to natural sunlight and they are available at most drug stores.

Eating right and exercising is another important thing to remember during the winter. While you may not want to go for a jog in the snow you can make good use of an indoor track or stop by in the early morning at a local shopping mall and go on a brisk walk indoors.

You can even take up a new hobby or activity you have been meaning to try.

Think creatively and you can get through any rough winter. And remember,
Spring is just around the corner!
